The technologies which allows to control the display of XML data are XSL (eXtended Stylesheet Language) and CSS (Cascading style sheets).

XSL is very powerful and you should not have a problem creating your complex VFP report there. Have a look at msdn.microsoft.com/xml for some samples. (Requires IE5 though < g >)
