PMFJI, but this thread touched on air fares and it would be a blatant diservice to my fellow FoxPro-ers to remain silent...

My son who lives in Dallas just flew here (Las Vegas) for the grand total of $280 (round trip on Delta)! Yes folks, that's two hundred and eighty dollars!

My price shopping was turning up numbers in the $700 to $800 range until I went to www.priceline.com. There, I submitted a $280 price for the trip and viola(!) it was accepted.

Now, I wish I'd submitted 200 dollars even! :)

Seriously, this was a great deal. The flight was scheduled normally and all my son had to do was show up. This was not a "red-eye" flight, or anything like that either...

I know I'll be using this service whenever I can...

Just my .02 worth.

>As to driving, if you can make it to Tallahassee, you can join our convoy. Chuck and I are gonna rent a van and do the 7-8 hour drive. Airfare from Tally to Miami is about $250 roundtrip....not worth it.

>>>27 hours?!?!?! Jeez, Rox, what happened? Did you miss a connection somewhere?

>>Not at all. Chicago shutdown several hours for tornados and American Airlines went down hard. I spent 2.5 hours on the tarmac in Dallas (waiting to go to Chicago), another 5+ hours in line (5 flights got cancelled) and finally got to Ohara shortly after 1 am (my originally flight was to leave Dallas at 1:30 pm!!!) Then of course there wasn't any gates in Chicago for another 1.5 hours to get off the plane... I finally got into Baltimore around 9:30 am the day after I left. Which was about 22 hours later, then another hour find the hubby in an airport neither of us ever seen before, 1.5 hours to drive back home to Harrisburg, another 1.5 hours at Harrisburg airport tracking my luggage which of course is still showing up 1 piece at a time... I had everything but my conference bag by around 4pm (the 27 hour point) so that I could finally relax & go to sleep.

>>I'm seriously considering driving to Miami next year =D)
