I'm no guru (VFP or other) but I too have programmed quit some years in FPD and made the step half a year ago now.
I've had some trouble setting aside some FPD habits (where scatter/gather is on of the most important) but once I accepted to change to some new concepts (such as tablebuffering which is an alternative to scatter/memvar though those last stay usefull) things are starting to work out.

Earlier I found an application here on UT where many features and cullprits are demonstrated and that was extremely usefull to me, finding out how setfocus/getfocus, valid, and many more works and especially how you should and should not use them. Unfortunatly I can't find them anymore. Maybe someone ales can point out where to look for ...
