Partly right.

Setup the Generic/Text Printer
Use a font that is NOT truetype for the report. Remember that if it is a text font you will lose your formatting - you cannot have lines accurately. You will be forced to 76 lines per page only with no in betweens.

So make sure your lines of text line up.

This will print bi directional text. You will lose the facility of sending the teraoff commands as these are built into the printer driver. You could do it by sending the ESC sequence from the generic driver but if you need that please email me as it is too difficult to explain. I will email you some screen dumps.

OR

Install the printer driver that came with the printer.
Use the Printer Text fonts that this driver will install/ make available.
LINE UP ALL YOUR REPORT TEXT LINES.

After the report has been saved, open it as a DBF - USE report1.FRX
BROWSE
Open the EXPR memo field and DELETE ALL DATA THERE EXCEPT THE ORIENTATION

Keep
ORIENTATION = 0/1 (0- Portrait, 1 - Landscape)

Open and Delete ALL data in the TAG and TAG2 fields. Close and save. (You will have to do this every time you open this report for editing so better write some code to do the work for you)

Get your hands on the printer manual and change its internal settings for tearoff, paper size, font etc.

Then Print, print, print...
