Maybe you just need to buy a copy of the National Enquirer...

Really people. Who cares at this point. Barry said it best - it ain't
really worth anything until the people doing conferences make announcements.

>>>The were the people that were manning the registration booth at DevCon. They told me they were the ones that had handled all of the registration/hotel reservations/etc for FPA. It either sounds like they're not going to be dong the next one for FPA in Miami, or they're just branching out on their own. Either way, it'll be interesting to see what info they send out to people in a couple of weeks.

>>>>>As I handed in my DevCon evaluation form on Thursday, the people there made a point of informing me that they (the people who put on this DevCon for Advisor), would be putting on their own VFP DevCon in about April/May of 2000. They didn't have any other details to tell me, but they did say that additional information would probably be mailed to all attendees in about 4 or 5 weeks.

>>Hi Fred -

>>One of the important things to remember here is that Tech Conferences (TCI) were "silent" partners with Advisor Media (AM) for 5 or six years. TCI handled all of the logistics (hotels, meeting rooms, accomodations, registration, etc.) for Advisor DevCons, up to and including this last one in Palm Springs. Basically, AM was responsible (with a major assist from Microsoft) for speakers and content. (If you recall, when Microsoft first acquired Fox Software, the developer conferences started being called "Microsoft DevCon".)
>>
>>Without getting into the politics of what actually caused this split, it would probably be best for everyone in the FoxPro community to wait for any forthcoming announcements, rather than start "rumor'ing" or speculating. I mean, I think we're all deathly tired of those "Is VFP dead" things that keep popping up from time to time...aren't we?

>I think this is as far from "another FP is dead" thing as one can get. Another conference could be great, if it's handled correctly. I just had wondered if this was a split of TCI and AM, or was it something different. It appears you have some additional knowledge on this topic. Are you affiliated with either TCI or AM?
