Hi Bruce,

Tried your solution with the recordsource="" before the pack, and it has partially succeeded in that the grid no longer goes blank, however the columns in the grid now contain data from the first 4 columns of the table, rather than what they were originally set for.

Is there a way to easily avoid that? If so, it seems I'm set.
