As others have suggested, this is most likely a video driver problem.
You might check the manufacturer's web site for updated drivers.
Alternatively, you might change the bit depth (number of colors) your video card is set to display. Start at the highest bit depth then try dropping it down a notch, rebooting and repeat until the problem is fixed or you reach 256 colors (whichever comes first 8^) ).
