Pamela,
I haven't done this with Office97, but with earlier versions all you had to do was run SETUP. In the Custom setup make sure the DBF data drivers are checked. They are NOT in the default setup in earlier Word versions, but had to be checked specifically.

>I have updated Office97 to SP-2 and VFP 6 to SP3. Somewhere along the line I have lost the ablility of Word and Excel to recognize a .dbf. They don't seem to care whether the .dbf is saved in 2x format or VFP format. I have also lost the FoxPro file option in the Open Data Source dialog in Word.

I have an example downloaded from Microsoft that shows me how to attach a FoxPro table to an Word document in VFP code, but my users need to be able to attach a FoxPro table to a Word document in the Word user interface and right now the Word user interface has no clue what a FoxPro dbf is. Can someone tell me how to fix the Open Data Source dialog so that it can attach a VFP dbf to a document? I imagine it involves a registry entry, but I have no idea where to start.
