Terry, this sounds like a FoxPro bug (5.0) that I ran into.

In my situation I opened the table in the default session as NOUPDATE. Then I used a form with a private datasession to update the table. The changes were saved to the DBF file but the CDX file was not updated.

I solved my problem by removing the NOUPDATE option from the USE statement in the default DS.
