>How is your progress on this?

Thanks for asking! I got the program to work. I just wish to have more experience on other commands (like SCAN...ENDSCAN, etc...). Like I said, it works now. I just now have to display "something" on the VFP background to inform it is "running" while the user(s) wait (just like what Mr. Data says "Processing... processing... stand by... processing... processing...").

Since this is so small of a program (just Excel to VFP [and reports] to text files), I was hoping to be able to learn what I can improve with before I get into bigger ones (to make it more Rushmore optimize). I just learned the SYS(3054) at the AppDev training only three months ago, and will try to use it "often" to see where I am at. The problem is I am not much familiar with SCAN...ENDSCAN or other commands, in meantime, I stick with DO WHILE...ENDDO with many many IF...ENDIF. I think I cause more "nesting" error more than anyone else :) This is why I often tend to "COPY TO temp" because I wasn't familiar with "cursor" yet, moreover, "cursor" are read-only, so on on on for me... again, just learned about "view" but not yet tried it out.

So, thats where I like to offer my coding to "anyone" here to help me look over and see if there can be any improvments, then reply. I believe this would be the best way I can learn, via improvements from my own program(s), or ??? It is now about 200 lines of codes.

Thanks to all who replied before.

Chuck (I am probably now going to be recognized as "oh, that Chuck, the deaf guy" in this UniversalThread, just kidding...)
Today is tomorrow's yesterday.
