Okay, I've finally figured a few things out..
As for the printers not showing up, it was a user rights thing in WindowsNT.. I had to make everyone a print operator AND a Power User. Power User was the key, without it, the users could not properly add a printer and use it. This caused me major headaches for a few days until i went around to all my NT boxes and added Domain Users into Power Users. Lucky I only have about 10 computers to deal with.
The "set printer to name (cpname)" problem is the same problem. Users couldn't change their default printers because they didn't have enough rights, so the printers didn't really work although they were sometimes listed.
Everything seems to be fine now and the only changes I have to make to my program are user rants and raves :)
