You may want to take a look at Stonefield Database Toolkit (SDT). It has a lot of great features for maintaining databases, as well as code you can use to update an existing database on a client or customer's system. We have an in house application here where we have 2 databases: development and production. After we change and test the development database (new fields for tables, new views, etc.), we apply those changes to the production database using SDT. Works great!
>How do you add a new View to an application that's already been distributed, installed, and in production? I've got a database container organizing the data in my app but need to introduce a collection of new views. Is it a simple matter of redistributing an updated container? One that has the new view definitions? Any other "gotchas" to be aware of?
