Jacques,

Did you put the suspend before or after the query has run ? If it is after, the difference in performance is probately due to the fact that a query run faster if you run it the second time as VFP can make buffers which speeds up queries if executed multiple times.

To make sure if its the query that takes all the time, use the SET COVERAGE command to see which code has the bad performance.
