Yes, you're correct. Actually, I'm not realizing the true power of views. They seem to be second only to relations, which I try to use whenever possible. Do you think there would be a great performance hit if everytime I changed my data on one form, I had to do a REQUERY on all the other views on other forms? In practice with small subsets, as you said, this seems to be okay.
