Christof mentions in a previous thread "...the incremental search interval is controlled by _DBLCLICK. By default this is 0.5 seconds, so you might type too slow and therefore get t he impression that there's no incremental search going on. You can change the variable in the GotFocus and restore it in LostFocus."
