>I second on what Mark Oliva said. I use free tables (fox2x) for OLE automation with word successfully. But I accept setting correct syntax for ODBC is rather clumsy.

There was a fairly recent HotFix for the VFP ODBC driver... perhaps that will fix their problem. You can get the new DLL on MS's site.
