We are going to set up a "play" server and feel it out for the next few months, deciding for ourselves what the investment will be in time and what the return looks like. Probably try out a few toy projects, small things that we are already very comfortable with to see how it plays out.

If you want to go with the distribution publisher's settings for server or workstation, there is not much difference. Haven't tried the other distributions so I can't comment on them.

I know that M$ is offering FP server extensions for Unix (is Linux part of that "gang", I couldn't tell you for sure). As well, for ASP, you can always get Chili!ASP which is an ASP interpretor for multiple Web servers. For a while, M$ was against their product, claiming it would "break" ASP standards, but they're now recommended on the M$ site... Let's see if they'll supply a botched videotape to prove that they were never against the whole concept of someone else making an ASP interpretor!
