You can import a text file into a memo using the APPEND MEMO command. If your memo field is called mymemo and your text file is myfile.txt, you would use:

APPEND MEMO MyMemo FROM myfile.txt

I think 2GB is the limit for a memo file, which means all of the memo fields in your table could total up to 2GB.
