I think you are out of luck Barbara.

I've had this problem on a previously successful machine which suddenly failed (using Word) following a crash during a OLE session: in my case Word would instantiate but would fail any (or certain) ole calls.

As far as I could tell, one of the OLE components (or a reference to it in the registry) got shredded in the crash.

Not found any solution other than putting a 'if you get...reinstall Word' in my applications FAQ in the user manual!
