See my NEED SCRIPT message on oRox.MsgBoard() over at RoxWorld for a long winded description of what I'm trying to do. Here's the readers digest version =D)

I want to plug in some serverside VBScript through FP98 to do the following:

- Open an html file that contains a definiton list.
- Check the first dt (definition term) item on the list
- See if the a href tag for that first item is preceded with a < p > tag (new paragraph)
- If not, insert tag here
- close the file and save it if I added a tag

Kind of similiar to what I'm use to using low-level file functions for in fox. I thought of making a VFP COM object to do this and just instantiate it via VBScript... but I'm not ready to hassle with my ISP to load my own automation server just yet & I'm using FP98 after all (it's got enough of it's own bells & whistles, no sense in making this overly complicated with my own).

I've been digging threw the VBScript language reference posted to MSDN for half a day now and I can't seem to get started (low level open a html file and find a certain position). Can anybody give me a jumpstart here? TIA!

P.S. - since it's FP98 and not a client side sort of task, this has got to be VBScript. I can think of a possible client side JavaScript alternative (read "cludge") if I can't no way no how do it in VB script on the server, but man is it gonna suck performance wise for my message board :(
