>I have an application with many tables and I have superimposed a security hierarchy with passwords which regulates which user can change, add, delete or just read the data. However, how do I protect the data from some FoxPro hack opening the tables and changing stuff? I have thought about an encryption overlay in and out of the application but I need to be able to run a dynamic report writer against the tables (e.g. R&R or Crystal Reports).

Create a dummy function in your application, then call it from your database, so users cannot open the table without this dummy fuction wich is part of your application.
