Being employed as a VFP/SQL developer full time for 1 client, and part time for 4 of my own clients, I don't have time for 'games' software. So I don't have any. But I find it difficult to make use of a 30/60/90 day evaluation software package. Hence if I want to evaluate a package I will accept a 'loan'. If I decide I can make use of it, I'll buy it. I have bought several software packages, each in excess of $400, to evaluate only to find long after the grace period that they don't live up to their claims. Too late. No refunds.

Take for example you might claim that VB would be better for my app than VFP. I might apply for an evaluation copy and unexpectedly/happily get a rush contract.
The evaluation period would likely expire before I could get to it. Maybe an associate can 'loan' me a copy. I might be willing to bend my principals here.

In case MS is listening they will find I have a legally registered copy of VS 6.0.

Being a developer that designs an sells custom software I am sensitive to the problem. I don't want someone to contract me to build them a system and then not pay for it.
