Actually, it worked even in FoxPlus - the Set Procedure was actually invented to add some speed, because in the days of DOS 3.3 the directory search was a lot slower than today, and the caching was in the least not perfect, if it existed at all.

Ever since the advent of .pjx files, this is actually unnecessary, except as a convenience for those who like it.
