As another tool candidate look at Visio Professional Version which can do several database design formats and can also to UML for your class diagrams.

>Does anyone know of a simple ERD tool that would help me do data models? Something cheap or free and basic? I'm learning on my own with books and practice projects. Have Visual Studio 6 Ent. I'm new to this so its all about the concepts for me at this point and I'm attempting to work out data models for 2 projects. The database designer tool in VFP is cool but its a little more advanced than I need at the moment.
