Hi Everybody,

I'm a new develped in VFP6, and developed an Order Processing system.

We are using Win NT 4 as Network O/S and Windows 95 as clients, running on Cat5-AMP cables, with D'link SuperStack Switch and HUBs.

Size of my EXE File is around 5MB, and the Data wud be 10 MB, abt 50 DBFs.

The configurations of my Server and clients are as follows,

Server : HP Netserver E series, P166, 64 MB Ram, 3.2 GB HDD.

Clients : P133, 16MB, 1.2GB and above,
Also we have a few 486s running in our office. Overall we
have 34 client terminals.

Now, problem is On the PCs with same configuration P133, 16MB, and using the same HUB and type of cabling. There is a huge difference in performance. And on 486's the Software is running extremely slow. Is there any way to improve the performance of the system.

I also tried keeping the Executable file to the client machine and DBF's on the Server, but it is not improving the performance much.

I'm supposed to launch this software this week, and desparate to make it work smoothly. Here I wud like to mention that on Computers with Configuration P200,16MB RAM, the software is running very smoothly.

So pls anybody help me in solving this performance problem.

Awaiting for yr support.

TIA
Regards
Shaishav
