Thanks guys for the help on this, it really bit me! Also, it occured to me that I might have done this to myself in other places, so I went looking and sure enough I did. I fixed three places in our application today where this was a problem... never identified before. I've used UDFs in SELECTs many times, but most often with character data, which seems to work as expected. But this numeric issue in the SELECT is the kind of thing that makes me nervous. It also makes me wonder what other "hidden" gremlins are hiding out there! I might sound like the paranoid type, but when the boss asks "Well why didn't you know about this before?" I feel like an idiot. I wish there was a list somewhere that was titled "The Things In Foxpro That Can Sneak Up And Bite You In The A--".
