Why is a catastrophic error not displayed in a simple form with an MS 2.0 text box ActiveX control? There's no error trapping at all in the form, but when I trap for the error, by number, from within the control, I see that it happens and I now know how to cause it.

Why is nothing displayed when the error happens with no error trap? The ActiveX control doesn't trigger an error message in VFP? Seems wierd. I know the error happens because as soon as I trap for it I do a wait window about it.

Now I check for the specific error number and don't do anything. I've moved the control to a form in our app and duplicated the form level error code in the textbox control which I don't mind. The form seems to work ok even after the error happens. Is this going to bite me later?

The error itself happens on gotfocus after clicking on some part of the scroll bar. I don't know how to work around this, but I love this control for other reasons...
