Title:
Overriding saved printer config
I've got two issues related to the same problem. This issue is currently specific to a LABEL but I would assume will cause problems with REPORT files as well.
VFP ignores the selected printer when printing labels and prints to the printer saved in the LABEL file. I want to use the same label file for multiple label printers in different locations w/in the company. they are network printers, however, and VFP is saving the network path to the printer and not just the driver information.
Secondly, the label format has no capability to define a formsize outside of the Windows Forms. I _really_ don't want to have to physically define a label form on every computer in the company to make this work and I _really_ don't want to have to redesign all of the label forms under a better report writer either. These two things are basic functionality that should exist from w/in VFP somehow.
I read somewhere about editing the LABEL.lbx file and changing the definition "on the fly" but that is a lot of code to change everyplace there is a LABEL command in our system. Besides I haven't found any documentation on the symantics of the memo field in the first place.
Any ideas on this???
Thanks in advance,
Robert Hollinger
