>I accidently opened a 3.0 databse in VFP5. Now I can't access it in VFP 3.0. I tried to execute COMPILE databasename.DBC but I get an LINE IS TOO LONG error. This error talk about a length of 2048 and macro substitution. I'm I missing something.

Instead of what you did, from the command box in VFP3, try:

COMPILE DATABASE databasename
