If you haven't done it already, go directly to the MS web page for Visual FoxPro at
http://www.mivrosoft.com/vfoxpro/ .
Once there, over on the left vertical panel, click on "Developer" under the heading "Content by User Type". This will get you a listing of good papers on many aspects of Visual FoxPro, but the ones I want to point out to you are as follows:
Under the heading "Internet Papers"
1) Choosing the Appropriate Database Development Tool
Under the heading "Internet Papers"
1) Building 3-tier Client-Server Applications with Visual FoxPro
2) Integrating SQL Server with Visual FoxPro
3) Visual FoxPro and Client/Server Development
4) Using Visual FoxPro to Access Remote Data
These all should take you a long way toward understanding what you want to do and what you can do with Visual FoxPro as a front-end to any back-end engine including SQL Server.
