Hi, Eric. I've skimmed through this thread and it seems to make a good of case for menu shortcuts. I never went down that path for some reason.
What I did do was devise a generalized KeyPress method which looks for controls with names equivalent to Function keys. (Regular and shifted only--didn't get into alt and ctrl.) Thus if I press F12, my KeyPress method looks for a form control named "cmdF12" and "clicks" it if found. If I press Shift-F12, it looks for a control named "cmdShiftF12". The caption on the control always starts with the function key name, e.g. "F12 Search", "Shift-F4 Print", etc. Therefore there is always a one-to-one relationship between mouse actions and hot-keys. And the user can see the hot-key to use at all times.
May not be helpful but I thought I would mention it.

BTW, as I mentioned in another thread, I still have a few OKL's <g>.
