You can look at a functional example in the WIZSTYLE.VCX library. Look at the searchform class. It usuable...maybe not the prettiest thing in the world, but could get you started.

Otherwise you could look at 3rd party tools for doing searches, such as PHdBase advertised here, I believe. Stonefield Query tools (also advertised here).
