not really the problem Nancy - that was just an example and in fact as you'll see from my post to Ed, I've sorted that one (Macros interfering with my newfound menu shortcut alternatives to OKLs). The point was how do you deal - in principle - with behaviour that is different in the exe to the way it behaves in the app...

Ed's advice boils down to it not being much different from dealing with the same problem in the dos version, which doesn't worry me except that I've already noticed that such discrepancies are extremely common in the windows environment as opposed to extremely rare in Dos...
