Hi John,

Foxtools has shipped with each version of FoxPro since FPW 2.5. It's a special C library that FPW/VFP can use directly by simply issuing the SET LIBRARY TO command and pointing to the FOXTOOLS.FLL file.

Unfortunately, the documentation from Microsoft hasn't been the best. You might want to download my Extended Foxtools Help file (under Coding, Syntax and Commands) in the UT download section. It's completely cross-referenced and contains some corrections to some errata that has appeared in the official documentation since FPW 2.5.

As a side note, more than a few VFP functions had their "birth" as a Foxtools function. For example, before MESSAGEBOX() made VFP 3.0, in Foxtools there was MSgBox(). More recently, the JUSTSTEM(), JUSTEXT(), etc. functions were made part of VFP 6.0.

hth,
George
