VICTORY!! The problem was that even though Updatable =.F., VFP was looking at the UpdateName property which had 'Mc_Provd.LNm' in it (as an example). When I cleared UpdateName for all of the fields with Updatable =.F., my updates worked!! I was only trying to update Mc_PcpHs. I'm not comfortable with a view updating more than one table. That just seems to buy trouble, which I don't need. < G >

This one sure had me banging my head against the wall. Fortunately, I found one view with a join in it that worked. The only difference was the UpdateName property.
