Hi Len,

Yes, your supposition that suspend working after a fail tends to disqualify any memory leak as a cause is sensible, but who can say for sure, since we are not privy to exactly how VFP might allocate its RAm. For instance, it just might use separate stuff (already gotten) for command line stuff.

I generally wouldn't expect active and visible stuff to be affected by a diminishment of RAM. Typically new stuff (like your CreateObject) would be more prone to difficulty. My biggest problem with this whole SWAG is the syntax error message, which would seem odd for such a condition.
