I attended Iowa State University and actually graduated in 1996 with a degree in Computer Science. The program is excellent. They do a really nice job of teaching the theories behind OO programming and some of the later projects turn into really challenging programs using OO and recursion. I guarrantee you will not have a problem getting a job or an internship if you desire. The job market in Iowa is starving for programmers.
They teach C++ in the early coarses. This gives you a good background for other languages. They even have coarses in Java and Visual Basic. I loved I.S.U., so I am obliviously very bias. At first I didn't think I was learning that much, but you will be surprised how much the theory behind everything really helps.
B.T.W. The football program I think is going to start to turn the corner this year, and the basketball program should make the sweet 16 next year.
Hope I helped.
