There's no need to create a VBScript to do it; once the scripting host is installed, you can instantiate the Wscript.Shell object within VFP itself, and access the SpecialFolders collection to find the Desktop, and access the CreateShortcut method to create or modify a shortcut on the desktop in that fashion.
If you wanted to invoke your script, you'd fire it by invoking WSCRIPT.EXE or CSCRIPT.EXE with the name of the .VBS script you created.
