Well, in the SF Bay Area, I have seen FP rates as low as $35.00 to over $150.00/hr for VFP stuff for individuals, and sometimes much more for software development firms to their clients. Obviously, the low rates are for Jr. level guys with little or no experience (and maybe for a Non-Profit Organization -- church, Red Cross, etc.). FWIW: My personal situation is with a full-time job and not available during the normal work day, so I generally charge between $65 and $100/hr, depending on the nature of the task, and the client and duration of the project. I consider that a relatively lower rate in consideration for my inability to respond 'immediately', as I would if I were an independent on a full time basis...
