>>Anyhow FWIW -- the only problem with 'see entire thread' is the limit of 60 (?) messages -- which sometimes means you really can't get anything out of it, if its a popular thread (especially if a bunch of extraneous stuff gets put into the thread that doesn't really belong there).

>The limit should probably be there, for whatever reasons, but I'd apply it in a different manner: if a thread is too long, then show the last 50 messages, or 50 messages starting with current message minus 20. This way, if a thread really is too long, we can pick the interesting parts in the end, to see who won the game :).

>Just a word of recommendation: there's no limit in downloading a whole thread using UT Navigator, so I actually don't have that problem. I also noticed some increased speed of download with UT Nav 2.0 (or is it the fewer messages and my more frequent logging in during the summer?).

Hi Dragan:

Haven't yet tried the UT navigator -- just use native Netscape... Maybe I should. And, yeah, I do understand putting a limit on the thread size, and I had planned to suggest just what you did, when I logged in this morning. We seem to be thinking alike lately... Now if I could just get some of your smarts on the technical stuff... Well, that's why I hang out here.

Thanx.

Rob
