Carl,

Sorry if I gave that impression. That was not my intention.
Maybe I just need a little educating.

I am always interested in different ways of doing things.
I have always done my temp files on the local hard disk, as the applications I have in place deal with large files and, in my experience, on already tasked lans, I have had to be very careful about not eating up too much bandwidth.

It just seems wasteful to get your data-chunk from the lan, convert it to a file (locally), then put it back to the lan, use it for reporting, and then remove the file? This seems like more load on a server than needs be.

I am really curious as to what the benefits of doing this are. I
I fully respect your opinion, and have learned much from other developers, as there are often many different approaches that are overlooked.
