Just keep in mind that the larger a table gets, the more blatantly obvious any unoptimized code will become. VFP is very fast, even with large tables (80 MB is not large, IMHO). I don't think you will see a performance gain any time soon by switching to a server database.

Just make sure that all of your queries and LOCATES are fully optimizable, and you should be quite alright for some time to come.
