Thanks for the info. I traced through the code with the debugger and the refresh method is not called. I created a test case directly from VFP6 and everything works as expected. I also have another checkbox on the form which invokes the same code (cut and paste, not a function call) and it works as expected. I have looked at both controls and the properties and methods that are different do not explain why one works and one doesn't (name, controlsource, left, etc.). Both controls are on the same page of a pageframe. I have come across a number of problems like this and am stumped as to why they exist. FYI, in case you didn't read the original post, this program works fine in VFP3.0b but when VFP6 converts it something happens.
