If you modify your select like this...

SELECT value_a, value_b FROM (oldpath+'aFile') aFile, (newPath+'bFile') bFile;
INTO CURSOR ltmpOutPut

does that work? All I did was include an alias in the select after your (oldpath+'aFile').
