I found a pretty cool XML site that has some useful utilities and a bunch of samples and articles that are really aimed towards MS' vision of XML.

There is also a link to a parser that is currently in Beta being developed by vivid creations. It is available as a COM object and has no other dependincies (unlike msxml). The description says it is aimed at being nearly compatible with code written for XMLDOM.
