I am running out of ideas, perhaps someone will jump in...

When your error handler catches the syntax error start up the debugger and take a look at all the objects and tables that exist and check for something that is screwy or isn't acting properly. This could be objects, tables, variables...

Another idea is is to cut and past all of your controls and code out of the form and onto a new form. Start using this one and see if it has the same problems.

Do you have the latest Service Pack for VFP5?

>I have 96 MB of memory, using VFP 5. (I actually had this happen once with VFP 3 as well.) No other apps are running.
>This is the only form with this behavior.
>I really can't pin down any more clues. Every once in awhile, when I go into the application and click on this specific form, I get a syntax error when VFP tries to instantiate the form.
>I do have code in the LOAD event that opens some files.
>If I get the error, I simply close down the app, start it up again, and it's fine. I can enter the form and close the form a hundred times, but then go back into the app later and the error occurs when I try to launch the form.
