Since it takes more time to update multiple indexes on an insert or edit, I would think technically, yes, if something happened during an update. But generally if everything runs properly, I don't think it will be a factor.

This is an interesting question I haven't really thought about. I imagine one of the SQL experts will give a definitive answer. However, I believe the GROUP BY operates on the result set, not the source ( but I may be wrong ), in which case it may have no effect.
