College is a wonderful thing. I made it last a little too long for most people, but I wouldn't change a thing if I did it over. My dad told me, "Don't let books get in the way of your college education." In other words, there is more to a college education than going to class.
I did a lot of (much needed) growing up at college and although not every class was new information to me, there were a few class that I thought really expanded my way of thinking and my problem solving skills. These are what employers are looking for.
As far as how far to go.......The average starting salary for graduates (when I graduated) with a B.S. was only about 2,000 less than graduates with a Masters Degree. Employers felt they had over-educated or been out of touch of the "real world" for too long. They could probably figure something out if you gave them a book on the subject, but they didn't have the experience to demand the salary they probably felt they deserved with that degree.
Study hard, play hard, and have a lot of fun. That's what college is all about.
