>Ok, if you guys are gonna start talking guitars . . . I bought a Taylor 514 last year. I've also got a 1972 Ovation custom balladeer that I bought new, but since the Taylor arrived, haven't opened the case. Anyone interested in buying an Ovation w/ hardshell case. My deceased brother was a "world class" blues musician and a Gibson representative. There is actually a Rick Harvey Gibson electric. They gave him a flying V Gibson that was worth about 10k, but he really liked his Les Paul the best. Everytime I hear ZZ Top's Lagrange or Atlanta Rythm Section's Spooky, I think of him and that Les Paul.
Hi John,
I've never had the pleasure of playing a Taylor, but I understand that they're wonderful instruments.
I don't find it strange that he (your brother) preferred the Les Paul to the one named after him. You get used to one instrument and you tend to stick with it until something better comes along. Sorry to hear he's no longer with us.
BTW, you guys going to Miami for DevCon next year? I'm thinking jam sessions here.
George
