I, too have one form (mine is a class) that will give a syntax error periodically on load. The result of message(1) indicates that it fails opening a local parameterized view. My error handler catches that now and sends them back to the menu to retry. Most of the time the retry succeeds.

It's been happening in VFP3.0b, VFP5.0a and VFP6.0. I don't have any report of it with VFP6.0 SP3, but we've only released that to 2 clients. And they've only had it for a couple of weeks.

I'll be watching to see if you get any good leads. If we can nail this one, that'll be one less! < BG >
